Xibalba is the ruler of the Land of the Forgotten and the central antagonist/anti-hero of Reel FX Creative Studios and 20th Century Fox's 2014 animated film, The Book of Life. He and his wife, La Muerte have a complicated but loving relationship and tend to make wagers. However, La Muerte can be angered of her husband's cheating.
Xibaba is voiced by Ron Perlman, who also voiced Slade in the Teen Titans series and Mr. Lancer from Danny Phantom

Xibalba is similar to Discord from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and almost similar to Hades from Disney's Hercules. They have similar mannerisms and both like to cheat but maintain fair deals with the heroes.
However, Xibalba shifts more towards Discord because their a redeemable trait were their loves for La Muerte and the Mane Six (namely Fluttershy) that caused them to truly reform.
According to behind the scenes, Xibalba met and fell in love with La Muerte when they were both disguised as mortals. He also had a romantic interest in her sister, La Noche before Muerte and Xibalba married and is overprotective of his children with La Muerte, which are five sons and two daughters.
Of his seven children only one is named; the individual being his daughter Sartana
