After losing their horses, the Witch-king of Angmar and the other Nazgul gained Fell-beasts. The Witch-king's Fellbeast scoured the lands for Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee. However, their efforts were fruitless. It also attacks Gondorian soldiers and attempted to snatch Frodo, who was saved by Sam Gmagee.

The Return of the King[]

The Witch-king rode the Fellbeast into the siege of Gondor. During the first day, the Witch-king's fellbeast is armed for battle, both he and his owner unaware that Frodo Baggins and his companions, Gollum and Samwise Gamgee. On the second day of the Battle, it and its rider attacked Gandalf and his companion, Peregrin Took. However, Theoden and the troops of Rohan arrived on the nick of time, causing the Witch-king and his fellbeast to flee to return to battle.

During the Battle of Pelennor Fields, The Witch-king swooped down and attacks Théoden and Snowmane. The horse is instantly killed. The witch-king has it nearly devour Théoden, but Éowyn, Théoden's niece, comes in between the Nazgul and her uncle. It attempts to attack Éowyn, but she decapitates the creature, which throws the Witch-king off
