Hope van Dyne is a Marvel Cinematic Universe character who appears as the tritagonist in Ant-Man and the titular deuteragonist of Ant-Man and the Wasp. After being given the Wasp suit, she became the second Wasp.
Hope is the daughter of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, having her mother's last name.
She trained Scott into becoming Ant-Man and soon, they fall in love with each other. However, Hope breaks up with him after he disobeys her father and accidentally made them go on the run.
Hope was originally going to be in Captain America: Civil War, but her appearance was postponed up until Ant-Man and the Wasp. Her appearance was alluded to when Scott says, "Would you have come if I asked you to?" with Hope responding "If I did, you wouldn't have been caught."
Along with Scott Lang, Robbie Reynolds, and T'Challa, Hope is the fourth character to take the mantle of another superhero.
Hope appears on the covers of several Promotional material of Avengers: Infinity War but never actually appears, due to hers and Scott's conflicts taking place simultaneously. However, she does appear in Endgame.
