The Vliste-Staba , also known as the Sanctuary Tree, is the Sanctuary Tree of Grot and a minor pivotal character in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. It is the one that tells Deet about the Darkening, an infectious magical disease manifested from the Darkened Crystal of Truth. However, he and the trees can no longer keep the Darkening within the caves or underground Thra and showed Deet a vision of the future, where she saw events following the consequences of the Darkening. Later, before it died the Vliste Staba passed on its powers to Deet.
