Vendel is a major protagonist of the Tales of Arcadia franchise, serving as a major character in the first two seasons of Trollhunters, a minor character of 3Below: Tales of Arcadia and a supporting character in Wizards: Tales of Arcadia.
He was the Elder of Heartstone Trollmarket,, the mentor of Blinky Galadrigal and an ally of Jim lake Jr. and his team of Trollhunters and House Tarron. It is also revealed in 3Below that Vendel met King Fialkov and Queen Coranda, Aja and Krel Tarron's parents, centuries ago when Kanjigar was still the Trollhunter.
He was succeeded by Blinky Galadrigal as leader of the trolls of Arcadia.
Personality[]
Vendel is mostly grouchy and a skeptic. However he cares about his fellow Trolls and starts believing in the Trollhunters despite initially having his doubts Jim could survive being the first human Trollhunter ever until he defeated Bular during the second battle of Killahead Bridge. He was also the first to realize Queen Usurna's deception but at the cost of his life. The last thing he did was record his own murder to warn the Trollhunters of the Queen's treachery.
According to Blinky, despite their complicated relationship, he still believed in Jim and likely would've wanted Blinky to succeed him as the elder of Trollmarket following his death.

- Vendel was the second of Jim's allies to die, preceded by AAARRRGGHH!!! However, Aaarrrgghh!!!'s death wasn't permanent, as he was successfully revived by Blinky, Claire and Toby.
- Vendel's death was eventually averted in Rise of the Titans when Jim reset time.
