She is the evil sea witch who is the younger sister of King Triton and the aunt of Ariel who takes advantage of her niece's love for Prince Eric to get revenge on her brother.

History[]

The Little Mermaid: Against the Tide[]

Fifteen years ago, Ursula tricked her sister-in-law, Queen Athena, into believing her daughters were in danger. However, she purposely led the Sea Queen to a ground, where Merpeople Hunters were waiting and they killed her. Grief stricken, Triton banished Ursula to the further regions of the sea, where she took up residence in bones of a leviathan with her pet eels, Flotsam and Jetsam.

At the end of the novel, it is revealed that Ursula was the one who orchestrated Mala's abduction.
