The Tuskegee Airmen are supporting characters in The Battle of the Smithsonian, the sequel to Night at the Museum.

Background[]

The Tuskegee Airmen /tʌsˈkiːɡiː/[1] were a group of African-American and Caribbean-born military pilots (fighter and bomber) who fought in World War II. They formed the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the United States Army Air Forces. The name also applies to the navigators, bombardiers, mechanics, instructors, crew chiefs, nurses, cooks and other support personnel.

They were brought to life when Dexter stole the tablet of Ahkmenrah.

Role in the Film[]

The Airmen are led by two men: one of them likes to narrate everything they are doing while the other leader finds it quite irritating. They meet Amelia Earhart and Larry Daley, the former whom they admire as. As they try to find the Einstein bobble heads to save Jedediah, one of the Airmen thanks Amelia, whom they admire since she made it possible for women to fly, it gave room for the science community to allow the Tuskegee Airmen and other African Americans to make their dreams possible. He offers to race her to Paris until Larry urges her to help him find the bobbleheads to save his friends. Later, when Ivan the Terrible, Al Capone, and Napoleon Bonaparte attacked the Air and Space building, the Airmen stand in their way in order for Larry and Amelia to make their escape.

The group later participates in the battle of the Smithsonian and bid farewell to the New York exhibits. They presumably freeze back into their former selves afterwards.
