Tulip Olsen is the main protagonist of Book One: The Perennial Child (Season 1) arc of the 2019 animated series Infinity Train. In the pilot, she is 12 years old, and 13 by The end of the series.

She lives in North Branch, Minnesota, and is struggling after her parents' divorce.

History[]

After her parents' divorce, she indulges herself in coding to ignore the pain of it though a scheduling mistake means her dad can't take her to the coding camp in Oshkosh that he promised to take her to, and she sets off to walk there. As she walks through a snowy field she stumbles upon the infinity train, a magical train with an infinite amount of train cars, magic, and artificially created beings called Denizens. At the time, she thought was a normal train), and when she saw a sign saying it was going to Oshkosh, she got on before being knocked unconscious by a beam of light.

When she woke up on the train she originally thought she was still in Minnesota due to the train car she was in looking like the snowy field she boarded the train on. Soon she realized she was wrong after finding One-One, A tiny ball-shaped robot with a split personality, and opening the train door and seeing outside. She was in the marvel of the n Grid Car, Where she could create pixelated structures by simply touching the walls or floor hard enough. While in this car she takes off her glove and sees her number, causing her to freak out. She tried to get off the train but the only thing outside was a wasteland. While travelling through the wasteland she was attacked by Ghoms, large cockroach-dog-like creatures that are night black and have wings, antennae, and tentacles over their mouth. She barely managed to escape them. After the Ghoms attack, she decided to get to the conductor and ask them to let her off.

She travels through multiple train cars on her way to the front when suddenly she notices her number has gone down. After asking One-One if he knew what it meant One-One stated that when it hits zero she's going to die. Tulip, in a panic, decides to go faster when she's distracted by voices coming from inside a large train car resembling grassy fields, a beach, and an ocean. She follows the voices to see two Denizens Cat, a talking Cat and an excellent con artist, and Randall, a kind yet stupid being made of water. The Cat is selling Randall a pipe that she claims is magic when she mentions ever her friend The Conductor bought it. Tulip asks the Cat if she knows The Conductor to which The Cat responds yes. During this conversation, Tulip also learns that the number going down to 0 won't kill her. Tulip gets mad at One-One for making her think she's going to die to which One-One responds by saying "It would be surprising if you never died" making Tulip angrier. The Cat offers to talk to the Conductor for Tulip in exchange for helping her fix her ship and for giving her One-One to which Tulip reluctantly agrees.

After helping The Cat she takes One-One and her ship and leaves telling Tulip she will be back soon. After a moment Tulip realizes she made a mistake and enlists Randall to help get One-One back. This is successful but it does make The Cat an enemy of Tulip.
