When Schmendrick is tied to the tree, he accidentally uses his magic to animate the Tree, who professes her love for Schmendrick, much to his embarrassment. However, the Unicorn comes to Schmendrick’s aid by freeing him from his bonds and undoing his magic enchantment on the tree.
