Mr. Nichols is very similar to Johnny's father; both abandoned their ex-wives for no apparent reason, and both their children resent them for it. This shows a rather cowardly side to him, and his abandoning of his children and lack of contact with him showed that he had no interest in his children's lives. This made his daughter Tory resent him and look to older parental figure such as Kreese, Johnny or the LaRussos. He was also abusive to his family just like Sid Weinberg.
