Tom Kullersen is the main human protagonist of Dragons: The Nine Realms. He is the son of Olivia Kullersen, a scientific explorer. This heads him to have a thirst for adventure that often leads to him getting in trouble but also leads him to finding great rewards. He becomes bonded with Thunder, a Night Light.
While joining his mother on an exploration in Northern Europe, Tom discovers that the dragon tales of old are true after rescuing a Night Light trapped in rock. Eventually naming the dragon, Thunder, the two form a close bond, which eventually leads to them becoming partners, and Tom being the first dragon rider in over a thousand years.
He has blonde hair and blue eyes and looks like a male version of Astrid and it Nuffink was a fourteen year old boy.

Trivia[]
The symbol on Tom's jacket is that of Mjölnir, the war hammer of the Thor, the Norse god of the sky. The same symbol is often used today by members of Asatru the modern day religion that worships the Norse gods. This, along with his admiration for his Viking heritage, may imply that Tom is a member of Asatru.
It's been subtly implied that he and Jun might be developing feelings for each other.
