Tolyn is a supporting antagonist of Netflix's dark fantasy adventure series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. He is second-in-command of the Guards of the Crystal Castle and is Rian and Gurjin's arch-rival.

Personality[]
Unlike the other Castle Guards, Tolyn is very mean, selfish and arrogant, as he likes looking down on other Gelfling who are undisciplined and treats Rian and his friends like dirt for being immature and annoying. He is the only guard who hates Rian and when Ordon's back is turned, he would bully him and call him bad names and enjoys seeing him humiliated. After Tolyn becomes the new captain, he would punish anyone who sides with traitors or oppose the Skeksis, as he cruelly harasses Gurjin for being loyal to Rian and rudely calls him a "Drenchen". Tolyn is extremely loyal to the Skeksis and trusts and serves them till the end.
History[]
Tolyn was the second in command of the three Guards at the Castle of the Crystal. For unknown reasons, Tolyn and Rian dislike each other. He used to go on several patrols with Gurjin. However, he dislikes Gurjin because of him being Rian's best friend.

- One of the few Gelfling to be bad, along with the Crystalline Acolyte.
- Tolyn is among one of the most hated characters in The Dark Crystal franchise due to his backstabbing nature and his willingness to betray his fellow Gelfling.
- Out of all the major Gelfling characters in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Tolyn is the only one who's voice actor and puppeteer aren't credited.
