Thunder is one of the two main protagonists (alongside Tom Kullersen) of Dragons: The Nine Realms. He is of the Night Light species and the dragon companion and best friend of Tom Kullersen.
Thunder is the son of two unnamed Night Lights, and the brother of the hatchlings, Shadow, Goggles, and Splattertail.
Having been separated from his fellow Night Lights, Thunder wandered the Hidden World as a lone dragon, until the Kullersen Fissure caused an opening to the Hidden World, allowing him to escape into the outside world. During this time, an Earthquake trapped Thunder under a large number of boulders until he was rescued by the human Tom Kullersen leading to the two forming a close bond and eventually becoming best friends. As time passes, Tom becomes Thunder's rider as they work with their fellow Dragon Club members to guard the secret of the Hidden World from humans who may pose a threat to the dragons.
