Thráin is a character in Tolkien's legendarium, only appearing in the book and the live-action film trilogy.
Background[]
Thráin was likely born in Erebor in TA 2644. He later married an unnamed dwarven Lady. His wife later gave birth to three children namely Thorin, Frerin and Dis, who were the children who Thráin loved dearly.
Smaug's infultration of Erebor led Thráin and his people to flee their ancestral home.
