Originally a party girl and drug addict like Oliver, Thea later became a vigilante and member of Team Arrow, using her brother's childhood nickname for her, Speedy, as her codename, as substitute for Roy Harper.
Thea is based on Mia Dearden from the Green Arrow comics published by DC.
Thea Dearden Queen was born January 21, 1995 to Moira and Robert Queen and the maternal half-sister. Unknown to her, Oliver, and Malcolm, most her life, her real father was Robert's former best friend Malcolm Merlyn, with whom Moira had an affair with in retaliation to her husband's many affairs. She was very close with Oliver, who nicknamed her "Speedy" because she always seemed to be faster than him whenever they chased each other around the house. Unfortunately, in 2007, when she was only twelve, during the time Oliver was gone, Thea secretly began to become a party girldo drugs just like her brother during his days as a billionaire playboy.

In Season 2 of the series, Thea is still unaware that Oliver is the Arrow, but in this season she struggles coming to terms with her mother's reasonings for taking part on Malcolm Merlyn's plot for the undertaking. She tirelessly tries to stop Roy from time to play the hero in fear of losing him. After being convinced he is done being involved with vigilantism, she gives him another chance. During a gun swap relief rally, she meets Sin, a girl who Roy previously met and is associated with Thea's friend, Sara Lance. There is intensity between the two because Sin believed Thea to be uptight due her status as a rich girl from uptown Starling City. However the two become friends after Thea went to visit her in the hospital and showing concern for her. After Roy and Thea break up for good in "Birds of Prey", Thea is picked up by Slade Wilson who has the Man in the Mask (real name Sebastian Blood) abduct her just to show how serious he is in his vendetta against Oliver. During this time, Thea learns from her captor that Malcolm Merlyn was her biological father and not Robert.
Romances[]
The most important relationship Thea ever had was Roy Harper, who she met when he was trying to steal her purse. During the exploration of Season 1, Roy and Thea grow romantic feelings for each other. Seeing the good within him, Thea tries making Roy realize this; however, he retaliates to her that he will never change, no matter how many times she tries to.Starting a romantic relationship, Thea and Roy begin dating. Thea grows angry when she sees him still found shady business. The two argue with each other until Roy is abducted by the madman taking justice into his own hands and knocks Thea out cold. After nearly being killed by the criminal and being saved by the Arrow, Roy approaches Thea after the fact as the two embrace each other, officially making up.
During the two part season finale, Thea helps aid Roy in finding the Arrow after the Dark Archer kills everyone in a terrible massacre. At Merlyn Global, Oliver notices what they are doing and warns them to stop before they her hurt. At Roy's house, they have another argument about the Hood. Fed up with how much he is wasting his life away and because of his refusal to listen to Oliver's warning, Thea leaves and returns home. After Moira announces that the Glades are about to be destroyed, Thea, shocked, realizes she loves Roy and quickly runs to the Glades, where she confesses her feelings for him and lets him rescue a group of citizens trapped on a bus due to falling debris. By season 2, Thea and Roy are in a romantic relationship. Having offered him a job at the club, they spend their time together either at Roy's new home or sometimes, make out at work during the day. Thea learns that Roy has been going out into the Glades and saving people. Putting his life at risk nearly pushes Thea off the edge.
