Frank Castle, Sr. (born Francis Castiglione) is the titular main protagonist of the Punisher comics published by Marvel Comics. He is the Punisher , an extremely violent vigilante who is driven by the death of his family, going after and killing hardened criminals. He is an outright dark antihero or a villain protagonist depending on the story. Castle is also known for his swearing and foul language and violent methods of justice.
