During the summer of TA 2941, the Great Goblin's men kidnapped Thorin and his company, but only Bilbo managed to evade capture. He at first sang a terrible song that the Dwarves didn't like but was music to the Goblins' ears. Secretly, no one, not even his followers liked the Great Goblin. He threatened to have Ori tortured until Thorin showed up and revealed his identity. The goblin taunted Thorin as he did not have a mountain (which was a lie considering he owned the Blue Mountains as well. He ordered Thorin's head to be cut off by the Goblins until a blast of Energy hit them. The Goblin almost kills Nori, but Thorin comes to his ally's aid by knocking his enemy off with Orcrist. The Goblin proves to be alive as he attacks Thorin and his remaining Company. Gandalf manages to sleigh the Goblin, causing the bridges to snap.

His legacy was not a very good one. After he was killed by Gandalf, he toppled on top of Thorin's company after Bofur jinxed themselves.
