The Butterfly is a minor but important character in Rankin/Bass's The Last Unicorn. He is always talking in riddles but is the first person to inform Amalthea that she is not the last Unicorn.
Personality[]
The Butterfly always speaks in riddles, with the Unicorn/Amalthea trying to be patient with him as mucha s she can. However, the only times he takes things seriously is when he informs Amalthea about the Red Bull and how it drove all the unicorns into the oceans. Amalthea remains patient with the Butterfly, even when he tries turning his sentences into jokes.
