Thanos is one of the main antagonists in the Marvel Universe. He is the adoptive father of Gamora and a deadly force to the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Avengers and their allies.
He has become one of the most powerful and feared characters of all time, to the point of being considered a god. He is a Titanian Eternal, Mutant, born with the Deviant Syndrome, whose abilities were amplified with meditation, arcana, and bionic implants. He was born to Mentor and Sui-San, the latter of whom he murdered as a child, and the brother of Starfox (Eros).
He was created by Jim Starlin and Mike Friedrich. Jim Starlin originally conceived of Thanos of Titan during college psychology classes.
Personality[]
Thanos is, at best an aloof, honorable, and dishonest man. However, at the same time, is capable of being a powerful ally and occasional anti-hero. However, In his earlier appearances, Thanos mainly became a man determined in universal conquest or world domination. After Death abandons him following his first, he tries to more actively win her affections. He would also enjoy hunting and killing his own children, such as Thane, mutilating is alleged granddaughter Nebula for his own purposes and being a cold foster father for Gamora. However, one of the few times he cared about Gamora was during Christmas, which he always let her celebrate. His coldness and ruthlessness can make him similar toward Darkseid, his alternate company equivalent. He is, also, prideful, and ruthless, to the point of laying waste to numerous planets and civilizations, as well as his own race. Despite losing to some of the heroes, he tries to remain cool as possible and at times, doesn't wish to destroy everything. He, at times, joined Adam Warlock to stop Magus and the Goddess and then Thor and Genis-Vell
Despite being a blood-thirsty menace, he often, at times, respectful towards his enemies such as Drax, Adam Warlock, Captain Marvel, Gamora, and Mistress Death. To the point, he considers Adam Warlock to be his only friend despite being on opposing sides at a time. He is quite powerful, enough to compare him to that of a Physical God even before he became the owner of the Infinity Gauntlet.

Thanos is a Titanian Eternal with purple skin, red eyes and a furrowed chin. He is also 6'7".
In terms of appearance, Thanos resembles a deviant more than an eternal due to the deviant gene in his bloodline.
