Team Zym (also called the Dragang by Soren) are the main protagonists of the animated Netflix series The Dragon Prince. They are named in honor of Azymondias, who goes by the nickname, Zym.
The team initially formed when Rayla, Callum, Ezran and Bait decided to return Azymondias' egg back to his mother, Queen Zubeia and end the war. However, during their mission, Azymondias hatched in the of a storm created by Callum when he destroyed Claudia's Primal Stone.
Two years after the battle of the Storm Spire, the team reformed in order to stop Claudia, Lord Viren and Terry and prevent the liberation of Aaravos. However, they have seven years and nineteen days before they're ready for Aaravos' return.

- The team is similar to "Team Avatar" from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
- The original trio consists of:
- Two boys (Ezran, Callum, Sokka, and Katara) and a girl (Rayla and Katara).
- They are also a set of siblings (Ezran and Callum in Team Zym's case and Sokka and Katara in Team Avatar) and a stranger (Aang and Rayla).
- They are both hunted by their enemy's daughter and son (Zuko, Claudia, Azula, and Soren).
- A pacifist young man who was orphaned (Ezran Aang, and Callum).
- One of the members has air-based powers and has a connection to now than one element. (Aang and Callum)
- A young woman with a motherly yet fiery nature.
- Members who have lost family members to an enemy (Sokka and Katara lost their mother to a Southern raider while Ezra and Callum lost their mother to Avizandum).
- They're also teamed up to end the war (The Hundred Year War and the human-Xadia war in the Dragon Prince).

- It's a member who has lost a parent.
- Callum and Ezran's mother were murdered by Avizandum for trying to cross Xadia's border. They lost their father Harrow as well but it turns out that Harrow is still alive and in Pip's body.
- Rayla's parents gave their lives to protect Azymondias' egg and moved on to the afterlife after being freed from their coins. She also lost one of her adoptive fathers, Runaan at least until they freed him from his coin.
- Soren's mother left her children with Lord Viren and lost contact with her son and Soren's father sacrificed himself to protect Katolis with one final spell.
- Azymondias lost his father Avizandum when Harrow killed him in revenge and later lost his mother after she sacrificed herself to temporarily stop Aaravos.
- Bait seemingly is old enough that he has no parents.
- The little buildings have no parents.
- Stella lost her parents a long time ago leading Rayla to adopt her.
- Each one of them has a bad experience with dark magic and disapproves of it.
- Layla's lost her parents to dark magic when they were trapped in the coin. She also hates when Calum resorted to dark magic to save her.
- Callum used dark magic to save Rayla from Soren and Claudia and later from Finnegrin. He also sees dark magic as vile, even terming it "your" kind of magic to Claudia.
- Ezran's father killed Avizandum with dark magic Viren provided for him, leaving Zym fatherless. Ezran also hates dark magic for the way it corrupted Viren.
- Soren grew up around dark magic due to being raised with a sister who performed it daily and Viren. Soren also abhorred dark magic, as it was what corrupted both members of his family.
- Both Soren and Callum were willing to dabble in dark magic. Callum used dark magic to save Rayla twice and Soren allowed his father to perform a dark spell that would save Katolis.
- The team is named similarly to "Team Avatar" from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Like the Gaang, Team Zym is called the Dragang in several promotional materials and media but never the show itself.
- Additionally, Soren calls Team Zym the "Dragang," in Book 4 to Zubeia. Also like Avatar, The Dragon Prince seasons are titled "books" and they focus on the specific element they are named after, (Fire, Water, Moon for ATLA and Sky, Sun, Earth, Ocean, Stars, and Dark for The Dragon Prince) while episodes are called chapters.
- Interestingly, Team Avatar's dislike for Firebenders is nearly similar to Team Zim's hatred of Dark Magic. However, Team Avatar eventually learns to accept that firebending is not all evil.
- Callum had the most number of appearances than the other members of Team Zym, being absent for only one episode.
- Soren was absent in at least 12 episodes.
- Rayla and Ezran were absent for one episode.
- Zym was absent for 3+ episodes.
