Tantor is a major character in Disney's 1999 animated feature film, Tarzan. He is an African forest elephant and the best friend of Tarzan and Terk. In spite of his large size and physical strength, Tantor is incredibly phobic and gentle. He is, nevertheless, a frequent participant in Tarzan's adventures.
