Tangle the Lemur is an anthropomorphic ring-tailed lemur in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
She is a mysterious soldier and a member of the current generation of Diamond Cutters who aids Sonic the Hedgehog and his allies, especially fellow heroine Whisper the Wolf.

Table was initially introduced as a silhouette. Her true design was first revealed on IGN.com on January 24, 2018.
Personality[]
Tangle is similar to Sonic in terms of personality, practically making her a female, lemur version of him. She usually keeps a positive outlook and is quite skilled and resourceful, particularly with her prehensile tail. Tangle has also shown to be claustrophobic and gets stressed when in dark, confined spaces.

Sonic the Hedgehog[]
Tangle and Sonic have been described as kindred spirits due to having similar traits to each other, namely their skill and enjoyment in battling Badniks, as well as the confidence they share in doing so.
Whisper the Wolf[]
Tangle and Whisper the Wolf are quite the polar opposites; where Tangle is loud and perpetually excited, Whisper is quiet and reserved. Nevertheless, they enjoy each other's company and ultimately became best friends. They first met on the battlefield during the battle for Angel Island where Tangle was amazed at Whisper's skill.

- Whisper and Tangle are the first comic-exclusive characters to appear in Sonic games
- Sega owns the characters from the IDW comic series, thus allowing them to use whatever characters they wanted to introduce.
- Kazuyuki Hoshino has stated that he loves both Tangle and Whisper and that he found it fun to team up with the IDW team to help create them
- Writer Ian Flynn has said that he really likes the 'Whispangle' ship (the ship between Whisper and Tangle) but also stated that a romantic relationship between the characters is not confirmed.
