Syerna's birth name is never said. She was named this by Philip Swyft, the human she falls in love with.
Personality[]
Unlike her sisters, Syrena was compassionate and kind, while her sisters were bloodthirsty. Being smart, selfless and brave, Syrena did not want her tear going to waste, a warning she told Jack.
When she was around Blackbeard and his men, she was very aggressive.

On Stranger Tides[]
Blackbeard and his crew kidnapped Syrena when she was wounded. She fell in love with Philip Swyft, who showed her kindness.
She was named by Philip, for her real name was unknown. She thought he was killed by Blackbeard and cries tears of joy when he was revealed to be alive. This lets Blackbeard steal her tear. Syrena was left for dead, but Philip freed her. She retrieved the chalices for Jack Sparrow and warned him not to waste her tear before swimming away. She helped Philip by kissing him so he can breathe underwater. They swam away to freedom, their fate unknown.

- Syrena was named after Serena Powers.
- "Syrena" is pronounced the same as "sirena", the Spanish word for "mermaid". The word "sirena" also means "mermaid" in several Slavic languages.
- Syrena is similar to Ariel, because they are both caring mermaids who fall in love with humans and gain legs when dry.
