Synthetic kyber crystals, also known as synthcrystals, are artificial artifacts featured in the Star Wars franchise.
They were artificial kyber crystals whose synthetic nature made them highly unstable and explosive.While synthetic Kyber crystals serve functions akin to those of genuine Kyber crystals, such as empowerling lightsabers, they lack the ability to sustain the power inherent in authentic Kyber crystals.
In the legends, they were called Synthetic lightsaber crystals. Like canon, synethetic lightsaber crystals were artificially created, often being red in color. However, they were changable to other colors, such as green synth-crystal created for Luke's second lightsaber.

- Green: Traditionally, the Jedi use green-bladed lightsabers.
- Red: Traditionally, the Sith use red-bladed lightsabers.
- Crimson: The Sith rarely use crimson-bladed lightsabers.
- Scarlet: The Sith rarely use scarlet-bladed lightsabers.

Trivia[]
- "Lightsabers and Jedi Equipment" also mistakenly makes reference to synthetic crystals by claiming Dooku's lightsaber was powered by one such fake crystal, but canonically Dooku's blade was powered by a real kyber.
