Sylvie is a major protagonist in the third and final season of BBC's The Musketeers. She is Athos' love interest and both are expecting a child together.

She is also close friends with Constance, the wife of Athos' best friend and protege, D'Artagnan.

Sylvie is a brave, outspoken young woman who became a lover of Athos by Series 3. Whenever Athos makes a rash decision, Sylvie is not afraid to speak her mind against it. She is also an aspiring leader, having led the refugees of the French-Spanish War to Paris as the war dragged on. She became close friends with Constance, the wife of Athos' best friend, D'Artagnan. After becoming pregnant, she became more concerned with hers and Athos' child, especially when Grimaud nearly murdered her, Sylvie was worried over her unborn child more than she was herself.

Sylvie is a passionate idealist and skilful fighter whose revolutionary spirit spells trouble for the Musketeers.Articulate Sylvie is the de facto leader of a group of refugees living on the outskirts of Paris. When her community comes under direct attack from Governor Feron, Sylvie’s radical ideas and capacity for mischief capture the Musketeers’ attention and they become increasingly torn between their instincts and their duty to the King.
Athos and Sylvie are drawn together from the start. Despite her incendiary politics, it’s possible that Athos has finally found peace – but when Sylvie and Athos finally surrender to each other, their blossoming relationship will put both their lives in danger.

In her introduction in season three, Athos and Sylvie first meet each other during "The Hunger." As the last season evolves, they begin falling in love with each other. However, Sylvie sometimes cannot bring herself to be with Athos, causing them to have an on/off relationship. Things become more complicated with Athos when Sylvie fell pregnant with his child. Both endangered Sylvie and her unborn child because her child's status as the offspring of the captain of the Musketeers.  Sylvie kept her pregnancy a secret from everyone until the time was right, especially keeping her pregnancy from Athos after Treville's death. 

Trivia[]

  • Sylvie appears to be an original character and not based on any particular character in The Three Musketeers. However, it's possible Sylvie is based on Athos' lover from the original second novel. In both cases, the two women become pregnant with Athos' child. Book Athos gets a son, named Raoul. However, the gender of Athos' and Sylvie's child was never revealed.
