Events[]

Battle of the Spire[]

The battle of the Storm Spire was last conflict of the war between Xadia and the human kingdoms. The battle took place at the bottom of the Storm Spire and at the top of the mountain. It cultivated in 5 days and also only lasted one day. It was late followed by the Quest to Stop Aaravos and the Lux Aurea Civil War.

Prelude[]

  • Ezran abdicates the throne and is replaced by Viren. Despite Ezran being imprisoned, Soren betrayed his family and rescued Ezran. Lujanne gives Ezran and Bait Phoe-Phoe and reunited with Azymondias, his brother and Rayla.
  • Kasef joins King Viren as they declare war on Xadia. Aaravos conspires to steal Zym's powers and swears to help Viren achieve power beyond his human form if they succeed.
  • After a perilous journey, Team Zym arrives on the mountain, only to find that Zubeia has fallen ill.
  • Viren turns his armies into an unstoppable force of empowered soldiers. Soren defects and makes it to the storm spire. Pyrrah and Ezran find him and return with him to the Spire, where Callum heals him with the breathing spell. He warns Callum, Ezran and Rayla what his father had done and that they are all in danger.
  • The group decides to stay and fight. Amaya reunites with her nephews and Janai and her army of elves have come together, swearing to help protect Zubeia and Azymondias.
  • As Viren's soldiers march upon the hills, Callum is about to confess his feelings for Rayla until Soren interrupts them. On their way down, Soren apologizes to Callum about all the times he was mean to him.
  • Rayla, Callum, and Soren join their allies at the bottom of the spire as they prepare to the attack. The council decides to make a line of defense and protect Azymodias and Zubeia at all costs. Rayla is declared the last of the Dragon Guard by Queen Janai, who opts to stay behind and watch over Zym.
  • The Viren loyalists attack Team Zym and their allies. However, this is merely a diversion, as the real battle is taking place at the spire.
  • The armies collide at a narrow path leading to the Storm Spire and Janai and Amaya fly in to join their troops on the back of Embertail. On Amaya's signal, the Sunfire Elves form a barricade using their shields, which is ridiculed by Claudia, who has a hard time taking the defenses seriously. Without waiting for Viren's green light, the mutated Kasef storms ahead and unintentionally starts the attack, followed by the other soldiers.
  • Janai's forces remain calm until the very last second, once close enough enchanting their shields and dropping them onto their base to release a shock wave that repels the attackers. The Sunfire Elf forces push the enemy back bravely, leaving no room to get through their barricades. Angered by this, Claudia casts a spell called "Noctu Igne", which releases a ball of energy that destroys the formation of the elves.
  • A heated battle ensues, in which the allied forces slay back several enemies until Amaya reaches the newly formed barricade, finishing it with her own shield. Unfortunately, Kasef breaks through again and hurls Amaya against Janai, wounding her. Seeing it as the only way to win the matchup, Janai enters her magma form as well and manages to slice Kasef's weapon in half, before the two exchange various denting blows onto each other with their fists. Kasef remains victorious when he headbutts Janai, then tackles her down.
  • As Callum begins to panic about the oncoming enemies, Ezran finally returns on the back of Pyrrah, accompanied by several Fire Dragons, which boosts the morale of all allies, including Soren. The dragons fly over the army and scorch Viren's followers, while Claudia protects her father, Saleer and herself using a spell called "Tenebris Praesidium", creating a force field. Due to their fiery enchantment, the soldiers prove to not only be immune to fire but are strengthened by it. Viren wishes to initiate the next phase of their plan.
    • The dragons begin to descend onto the ground, where Viren's men have prepared ballistae that shoot them down using heavy chains, despite Soren's attempt to warn them. Although one dragon manages to throw the ballistic over and escape, Kasef manages to grab onto the chain and wraps it around the beast's neck, causing it to crash land and be captured along its kin.
    • Zym is finally ready to see his mother, but Rayla does not want him to get his hopes up, seeing as her slumber is unusually deep. He approaches the sleeping queen nervously, nudging against her with his paws, but grows sad when it doesn't wake her. Sadness quickly turns into determination and Zym sinks his teeth into a strand of her hair, sending one shock of lightning after another through her body. When this fails as well, the depressed cub curls up in his nest.
    • Callum attacks warriors with his powers. He is nearly killed by Kasef but is rescued by Queen Aanya, who fires a bow and arrow, fatally wounding the former prince. With reinforcement from the human kingdoms, Ezran tells Callum to go to Rayla.
    • Claudia creates an illusion of Viren, who is allegedly about to kill Ezran. Upon seeing her brother's sword drawn against her father, Claudia returns to the scene and claims that Soren would be making a mistak. Soren kills Viren in self-defense but they realize the trick when Claudia admits that the battle was a distraction. Ezran uses his connection with Zym and realizes the dragon prince is in trouble.
    • During Viren's attempts to drain Azymondias of his life force for Aaravos, he manages to subdue Rayla with a freezing spell (the same one he used on her parents). Rayla ends up tackling him off the Spire. Callum reacts by throwing himself off the Spire and he is unsuccessful at summoning the wings spell Ibis performed. After admitting his love for Rayla, Callum successfully performed the spell and saves his girlfriend from her impending room. Happy, Rayla and Callum share their first kiss.
