Steppenwolf is a major antagonist in the DC Comics franchise the Justice League. He is the Second-in-command of his nephew Darkseid,.

DC Extended Universe

He also appears as the main antagonist of the 2017 film Justice League and it's 2021 Director's Cut,Zack Snyder's Justice League. He is the herald and maternal uncle of the villain Darkseid.   In the original film he goes to Earth to conquer it with use of the Motherboxs while intending to betraying his nephew. In the director's cut, he intends to repay a debt to return home to Apokalips after betraying Darkseid in the past.
