- “Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words: 'With great power comes great responsibility.' This is my gift, my curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-Man.”
- ―Peter Parker
Spider-Man (real name Peter Benjamin Parker) is the titular main protagonist of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy and a supporting character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: No Way Home.
He is the best friend turned boyfriend of Mary Jane Watson, son of the late Mary Parker and Richard Parker, the nephew of the late Ben Parker and May Reilly, the best friend of the late Harry Osborn, former arch-enemy of Norman Osborn, and close friends with Ursula Ditkovich, Betty Brant, and Otto Octavius. He also works at the Daily Bugel under J. Jonah Jameson, and a former student of Curt Connors who attended Midtown High School, and later, Culverton University.
Peter Parker is a young man who was bitten by a radioactive spider, altering his DNA and giving him arachnid-esque abilities. After failing to stop a robber who killed his uncle, Peter used uncle Ben's wisdom and using newfound powers to helping people, despite the bad publicity J. Jonah Jameson spreads.
He was portrayed by Tobey Maguire, who also voice Peter in the tie-in video game series.
History
Background
Peter was born in 1984 to Mary and Richard Parker. At four years old, he lost his parents in a plane crash, leaving him to be raised by his paternal uncle and aunt. Despite never knowing his parents, Peter had Aunt May and Uncle Ben to look up to as parents who became very proud of their nephew. Peter was sixyears old when the Watsons moved in next door to his house and he immediately developed a crush on their daughter, Mary Jane. He was one of the top students at school and because of this, Peter was often picked on by bullies such as Flash Thompson and other people who considered Peter a nerd. He later became best friends with Harry Osborn, who mostly protected him when they reached high school.

Personality
Peter Parker is a highly intelligent young man from high school, where they went on a field trip that caused him to be bitten by a radioactive spider. Empowered by genetic mutations, he uses his newfound powers to help people in the wake of his uncle Ben's death. Peter easily got along with Norman Osborn (who, according to Harry, treated him like a son before learning Green Goblin's true nature) befriended his idol, scientist Otto Octavius.Though, he can be quirky at times, mostly due to his romantic feelings for Mary Jane Watson. He has a rather special relationship with Harry Osborn at the start of the film, regarding each other as best friends despite their socioeconomic backgrounds. However, it comes into conflict due to Harry staying a relationship with Mary Jane, because Peter is also in love with her. in the second film, despite the weight of the world, Peter is still a free-willed vigilante who is vastly Intelligent.
Parker's career as Spider-Man was very difficult at first, due to New York City Police Department being mistrustful of the vigilante. J. Jonah Jameson discredits Peter's actions as Spider-Man, labeling him as a masked menace. In the series, it's implied he suffers from PTSD and is having trouble adapting. However, his deeds to protect the city's innocents has caused authoritarian figures into respecting the vigilante. This has led the civilians to help Spider-Man Fighting the Green Goblin and protecting him Peter's kindness and his heart allows him to see past his flaws, such as redeeming Otto Octavius so he would see the damage the latter was doing with his reactor and forgiving Flint Marko after learning he killed his uncle Ben on accident.

Quotes
Spider-Man
- “Who am I? You sure you want to know? The story of my life is not for the faint of heart. If somebody said it was a happy little tale... if somebody told you I was just your average ordinary guy, not a care in the world... somebody lied. But let me assure you, this like any story worth telling, is all about a girl. That girl. The girl next door. Mary Jane Watson. The woman I've loved since before I even liked girls. I'd like to tell you that's me next to her. Aw, heck, I'd even take him.”

- “I said, um, Spider-man, I said, uh, the great thing about M.J. is when you look in her eyes, and she's looking back in yours, everything feels not quite normal, because you feel stronger, and weaker at the same time. You feel excited, and at the same time, terrified. The truth is you don't know what you feel, except you know what kind of man you want to be. It's as if you've reached the unreachable, and you weren't ready for it.”

Mary Jane Watson : I know you think we can't be together, but can't you respect me enough to let me make my own decision? I know there'll be risks but I want to face them with you. It's wrong that we should be only half alive... half of ourselves. I love you. So here I am - standing in your doorway. I have always been standing in your doorway.
