Peter Benjamin Parker, better known as Spider-Man is the titular main protagonist of Ultimate Spider-Man, and a supporting character in Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and Avengers Assemble. He is the nephew of May and the late Ben Parker and the best friend of Harry Osborn and Mary Jane Watson. He later became an experienced fighter who rose through the ranks as the leader of the Web-Warriors and New Warriors and an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Like most iterations of Spider-Man, Peter gained his powers from being bitten by a radioactive spider and using them to fight crime and use responsibility after the loss of his uncle Ben.

He is voiced by Drake Bell.

Biography[]

Origins[]

Peter Parker was born around 1997 to Mary and Richard Parker. However, Peter never got the chance to know his either of his parents, having been raised by his father's brother, Benjamin Parker and his wife May. Despite being without his parents, Peter loved Ben and May unconditionally as they treated him more like a son than a nephew. Growing up in Forest Hills, Queens, New York City, Peter was raised in the ground of good morals and ethics, as uncle Ben would always say "With great power comes great responsibility." He has fond memories his aunt's warm nature and his uncle's magic tricks whenever he was feeling down. He often played with their nextdoor neighbors, the Watsons' daughter, Mary Jane, who became his best friend. However, they were only permitted to playing in the front yard and never out into the street. At twelve years old, Peter and MJ tried to "get serious" and kissed each other in the park. However, being children, the two were disgusted by the kiss. Instead, they chose they weren't ready yet and settled as just being friends. Peter was also one of the most intelligent students at Midtown High School, especially showing interest in science. Unfortunately, Peter was often bullied by Flash Thompson, who loved shoving him in lockers, forced him to do his homework, etc. He was also classmates with Harry Osborn, the son of Oscorp billionaire Norman Osborn. Later, Harry and Norman offered Peter a ride home after he was left stranded in the pouring rain. The two boys later became best friends over it.

Becoming Spider-Man[]

At fifteen years old, on a class field trip to Oscorp, Peter was bitten by one of their genetically altered, radioactive spiders. The bite granted him arachnid based powers, including wall crawling and enhanced his strength and senses. Using his intellect, Peter designed himself a Spider-Man suit and developed his own gadgets, such as the Web Shooters. However, Peter used the new powers rather recklessly which led him to lose Ben when his uncle was killed by a robber. Filled with vengeance, Peter chased after his uncle's killer and had cornered him. Realizing he was becoming a monster, Peter left his uncle's killer alone and left him webbed, turning him over to the authorities. Afterwards, it was just him and Aunt May.

The encounter taught Peter to use his powers by living by the "great power and great responsibility" by fighting crime and many other threats in New York. Over the next year, despite his good intentions, Peter faced backlash as Spider-Man, due to many lies Jameson spread through his broadcasting on the Daily Bugle and unintentionally causing damage at the scene. However he has a hands full of supporters, ironically gaining his tornenter, Flash as a fan as well. Prior to joining Shield, Peter had an unpleasant run-in with Electro and gained the Frightful Four as enemies.
