Fire Lord Sozin is the overarching antagonist of the 2024 Netflix adventure fantasy series Avatar: The Last Airbender, based on the Nickelodeon 2005-2008 animated series of the same name
He was the Fire Lord of the Fire Nation, the grandfather of Fire Lord Ozai and General Iroh and the great-granfather of Princess Azula, Prince Zuko and Lu Ten. During his reign, Sozin instigated the Hundred-Year War due to feeling that his conquest plans were threatened by the existence of the Avatar Aang, resulting in the massacre of the Air Nomads and leading to the events of the show.
He was portrayed by Hiro Kanagawa, who also voiced Gihren Zabi in the English dub of Mobile Suit Gundam and Sigma in the English dub of Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai
