Snotlout Is based on the character of the same name from DreamWorks' How To Train Your Dragon franchise and Snotface Snotlout From the books of the same name by Cressida Cowell.
Snotlout is boisterous and often acts as a bully to Hiccup. Whether it's for the same reasons like their animated counterparts, it is unknown.

Snotlout is seen wielding a mace.
In the original cartoon, Tuffnut had a mace, Macey. Ironically, Tuffnut left Snotlout a mace when he thought he was turning into a dragon after being bitten by a wolf.
It was initially stated on Wikipedia that Snotlout was going to be Hiccup's cousin like he was in the books. But, like the animated series, this is not the case.
