Skylor Chen is a major character in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. She is the Elemental Master of Amber, the daughter of Master Chen and the previous Elemental Master of Amber, the girlfriend of Kai and a close ally and friend of the Ninja. She initially followed her father's master plans in the Tournament of Elements and his bid to become a true Serpentine. However, Skylor unexpectedly fell in love with Kai Smith, the Elemental Master of Fire and the Red Ninja. She decided to betray her father and side with the Ninja, helping them put a stop to a second war between the Serpentine and human worlds. Since then, Skylor has beecome a valuable ally to the Ninja.
She is voiced by Heather Doerksen.

Powers and Abilities
- Amber/Power Replication: Skylor is the Elemental Master of Amber, having inherited her powers from her mother. Once her powers leave Skylor, it will either pass down to her child or someone else. She has the ability to replicate other people’s powers, even Lord Garmadon’s powers of destruction (to an extent). However, Garmadon's powers are too strong for her to handle, it left her in a comatose state, which only ended after Lloyd defeated his father when the Ninja returned. According to the creators, if Skylor were to duplicate the powers of the First Spinjitsu Master, then Skylor would likely explode. It was discovered in Season 9 she could duplicate more abilities at once with help from Lloyd.
Trivia
- Skylor is the second Ninjago protagonist to have a villainous father, after the protagonist himself, Lloyd Garmadon, and Princess Vania.
- Unlike Vania, Lloyd and Skylor were well aware of their respective fathers' villainy at the start of their arcs and acted as villains in their first few appearances before reforming. Ironically, both Skylor and Lloyd's fathers, Garmadon and Chen, have a history together.
- Of the three, Lloyd's father is the only one to redeem himself while Vania and Skylor remain the daughters of a villain. Additionally, both Vangelis and Garmadon still have a misguided and twisted care for their children while Chen used Skylor for his own selfish purposes.
- There is a theory that Wyldfyre is Skylor and Kai's daughter they lost during the Merge but there are no indications of Kai and Skylor even having children let alone marrying.
- Doc confirmed that Skyler is alive after the merge and that she may appear on a future season of Dragons Rising. This makes her one of the few allies from the original series whose status is confirmed, after Dareth, Fugi-Dove, and P.I.X.AL.
- However, Wu's fate is ambiguous and other characters like Garmadon, Misako and Harumi were never revealed nor have they been mentioned at all.
Relationships
Kai
Nya
Nya is one of Skylor's best friends.While she was initially an enemy to the ninja due to her loyalty to her father at the time. When she betrayed Chen, Nya saw Skylor as a friend when she saw that she meant a lot to Kai and because she turned against her father. She later gave advice to Kai and Nya about having evil relatives.
Roughly a year since the Anacondrai incident, she later joined Lloyd and Nya's resistance team in Hunted. She proved herself a helpful ally as she had saved Lloyd's group from the Sons of Garmadon and helping Nya with building weapons.
After the defeat of Garmadon and the Oni, Nya and Skylor cheered Lloyd on. This would almost be the last time that Skylor and Nya saw each other before the latter merged with the Endless Sea during the Great Flood. As such, Skylor Was one of the many mourners to attend Nya's memorial service. However, the two girls were reunited a year later when the serpentine sorceress Aspheera drained Nya of her powers and thus restoring to her human form. Both of them were upset by Kai and the other Ninja's improvement. Skylor also attacked Pythor in an attempt to defend Nya during the Council of the Crystal Kings attack on the monastery of Spinjitzu. However, the snake outmaneuvered her.
Lloyd Garmadon
Lloyd is one of Skyler's closest friends. Their fathers knew each other dating back to the the serpentine Wars when Skylor's father Master Chen was Garmadon's mentor. Desire Skylor initially being on her father's side, Lloyd didn't hold what she did against her once she sided with the Elemental Masters. When they made it back to Ninjago City, a few civilians spotted the newly transformed Garmadon and Skylar. Lloyd wanted to get them to safety.
After a period of at least two years, Skylor responded to the call for assistance from Nya and Lloyd in their battle against her father and the Sons of Garmadon. Lloyd observed that Skylor's abilities had returned since their previous encounter, instilling hope in him that his own powers might also be restored. During their infiltration of Both Tower, Lloyd played a crucial role in helping Skylor realize her potential to harness and utilize two elemental powers simultaneously. Following the successful transmission of Lloyd's address, Harumi and the son of Garmadon discovered the resistance at the Ninjago garbage depot. Despite the danger, Lloyd refused to abandon Skylor, his mother, and the elemental Masters, ultimately only managing to rescue both Skylor and Dareth.
Subsequently, while others speculated that Skylor could absorb Garmadon's power and control the Colossus, Lloyd harbored doubts about the prudence of such a course of action. When Skylor and Mistake (disguised as Harumi) went to Borg Tower so Skyler could copy Garmadon's power, their ruse was blown when the real Harumi showed up. Skylor was the last of the resistance to stay by Lloyd's side (besides Dareth). Her injuries were once of Lloyd's main motivations to bring an end to his father's rule. After the defeat of Emperor Garmadon, Skylor then cheered for Lloyd.
In "A Mayor Problem," it was revealed that Skylor and Lloyd kept in touch and Lloyd had Skylor's number the whole time. Indicating that they stayed friends after Hunted, much to Kai's concern.
