Sinestro is a major antagonist in DC Comics and the main antagonist of the Green Lantern franchise. He is Hal Jordan 's former friend and mentor-turned-enemy and the founder of the Sinestro Corps (which controls the yellow aspect of the electromagnetic power spectrum - fear).

Early Life[]

Rivalry with Hal Jordan[]

The rivalry initially started when Hal Jordan became the next Green Lantern of Earth. The Guardians of the Universe made Sinestro his mentor. Of course, the man grew tired of Hal's humor and inability to take the job seriously. Learning of his former mentor's plans for world domination, Hal led a group of rebels to fighting Sinestro. The alien was stripped of his Power Ring and banished to the Anti-Matter world of Qward.
