Norrin Radd, also known as the Silver Surfer, is a supporting character in Marvel's Fantastic Four comic book series. He is an astronomer from his homeworld and a humanoid alien with metallic silver skin and imbued with some of Galactus' cosmic powers. The Surfer travels the Galaxy on a silver surfboard and an ally to the Fantastic Four.
He was created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in the comic book Fantastic Four #48 (December 1965).
History [ ] Background [ ] As a young man, he saved his home World from Galactus from destruction in exchange for becoming one of his heralds. He traveled the Galaxy looking for planets for his master to consume. However, after regaining his humility when he met the Fantastic Four, Radd betrayed Galactus by saving the Earth from his destruction. This led to the banishment of the Silver Surfer, where he was exiled to Earth.
