The Shurikens of Ice is one of the four Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu that corresponds to the Elemental Master of Ice, Zane. It was corrupted into the Shurikens of Destruction, and be gifted to the Mechanic and Mister F. However, Zane purified the weapon only to destroy it in order to fulfill the final prophecy of Quanish the Elder. The Ninja summoned an Ultra Golden Dragon, which saved Lloyd Garmadon and helped the young ninja defeat the Overlord over more.
The first Spinjitzu master created the Shurikens of Ice, alongside the sword of Fire, the Skype of quakes and the nunchucks of lightning, to create the Island of Ninjago, as well as three other unnamed realms, create the Tornado of Creation and the Ultra Golden Dragon, and identify Lloyd as the Green Ninja.
It was mainly in the possession of Zane Julien until the Ninja surrendered their weapons to Garmadon so he could kill the Great Devourer. After killing the Devourer, Garmadon brought the Golden Weapons to the Golden Peaks and fused them, along with the other three Golden Weapons, into the Omega Weapon. However, a time-travelled Garmadon lost his weapon when the Ninja launched it at a comet. The weapons were later retrieved by The Overlord's minions and melted down into the Golden Armor so he could fulfill the prophecy of the Gold Master until he was defeated by Zane's sacrifice.
It remained in Cyrus Borg's possession until during the Oni invasion, Kai reforged the weapons into their original form so the Ninja could defeat the Oni. Many years later, the Overlord's minions broke into the Monastery of Spinjitzu and stole the weapons, which the Overlord corrupted into the Shurikens of Destruction.
He gave the Shurikens to Crystal Council members Pythor and Mr. F until it was purified by Zane during the Crystal Armageddon upon Zane defeating the nindroid and old Anacondrai. However Zane and the other ninja destroyed their weapons so they could summon the Golden Ultra Dragon and save their brother, Lloyd Garmadon. With the might of all four Elements of Creation, Lloyd and the Ultra Golden Dragon managed to defeat the Overlord once and for all, thus fulfilling the final Prophecy of Quanish the Elder. Wu surmised that the powers returned to the First Land with a chance of the Ninja's powers one day returning.
