In "Shock and Awe," Bolt & Float were separated from their pod and ended up in Edge Cove. The Gang thought Fishlegs was pulling a prank on them in Loki Day.
When the dragon appeared, Fishlegs trapped it in the coven so he could study it. However, Hiccup told Fishlegs they have to let it go and return to it's pod by destroying the barrier. At the same time, Fishlegs bonded with Bolt and Float; in their efforts , the Dragon Riders attracted the investe unwanted attention of a Scauldron and later an entire pod. The Seashocker managed to fight off the pod when Fishlegs helped them create a massive electric shock by joining their heads together.
They later answered a distress call across the archipelago in Season 6's episode, "King of Dragons, Part 2".
