The relationship between Liam Dunbar and Scott McCall is one of the main aspects of the supernatural drama Teen Wolf.

Overview

Liam and Scott met January 2012 (which is the start of the lacrosse Season) when Liam was a freshman and Scott was a junior. At first, a rivalry between Liam and Scott when the former displayed lacrosse abilities that even rivaled his own (mostly because of Stiles's influence). After accidentally injuring him and the wendigo holding Liam hostage, Scott unwittingly gave Liam the werewolf bite, transforming him into his first beta. Despite being angry about it, Scott and Liam eventually form a tight and unique bond akin to a brotherly relationship. It was this relationship that allowed Liam to appeal to Scott and break him out of Kate Argent's influence. In Season 5, Liam's relationship with Scott falls apart when Theo tries to manipulate Liam killed his alpha on the night of a supermoon. After Scott refuses to give Hayden the werewolf bite, Liam is thrown into rage and nearly succeeds.

In Season 5B, after he'd been duped by Theo Raeken into almost killing Scott, Liam desperately wants to do anything to make it up to Scott. Eventually, the two reconciled when they talked it out when trying to find the Dread Doctors' lair, allowing Scott and Liam to make amends. After this, Scott started healing. When it was discovered that Mason was La Bête, Liam was conflicted, while fearing that he would have to kill his best friend. However, Scott assured Liam it would not come to that and that they were going to save him.
