Satine Kryze is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe. She was the duchess of Mandalore during the Clone Wars and Obi-Wan Kenobi's lover.
Background[]
Satine Kryze was born on the planet, Kalevalabut came to live on Mandalore, with two siblings: a sister named Bo-Katan and an unidentified sibling. This unidentified sibling would give birth to Satine's nephew Korkie, who became a surrogate son towards her. She once fell in love with Obi-Wan Kenobi,a Padawan to Qui-Gon Jinn at the time. Both Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan were sent to protect her from invaders threatening her world. During their times being chased together, Satine and Obi-Wan fell in love with each other. On one of the occasions, Satine would gain a scar when Obi-Wan would accidentally drop her after trying to carry her to safety. The memory would be a fond one for Satine, as she would recall it to Obi-Wan years later during the Clone Wars. Once she and her homeworld was safe, Satine returned to Mandalore. At this point, Kenobi was in love with Satine and wished to leave the Jedi Order to be with her. However, he chose to train under Qui-Gon and Satine would attend to her royal duties on Coruscant, but they would later regret their decisions, but their love for each other would remain.
Personality[]
Satine was a strong-willed, kind-hearted, and caring young woman. According to Mandalore's then-Prime Minister Almec, she valued peace and pacifist ways more than her own life. She considered Obi-Wan the love of her life, even fondly remembering their times together when they were on the run as he protected years and for him. Obi-Wan once considered leaving the Jedi Order to be with her. Even years since they last saw each other, Satine was still in love with Obi-Wan.
She was very kind towards her people, but remained strict after an uprising on Mandalore due to the attacks of Maul and Savage Opress. She was motherly when it came to other children; a prime example was that she found it horrifying that half of her hospitals were filled with sick children. She also valued her family, being motherly towards her nephew, Korkie (whom she was close to), and forgiving and warm to her sister, Bo-Katan when she attempted to rescue her from Maul's imprisonment. Despite being able to handle a deactivator while fighting alongside Obi-Wan; however, she abhorred violence. She wanted to maintain peace in the Galaxy, choosing to remain neutral in the Clone Wars.
