Sally Walden is one of the two deuteragonists of the 2003 American fantasy comedy film The Cat in the Hat Loosely based on Dr. Seuss's 1957 book of the same name. She is the daughter of Joan Walden and the younger sister of Conrad Walden.
She is a stickler for rules and seems very mature for a girl her age.
Sally is strict, organized but at the same time cares about her mother and her brother despite these levels of maturity that Conrad lacks. However, at the end of the film, Sally and Conrad rub off on each other. While Sally learns to let loose and have fun from Conrad, he learns about maturity and taking responsibility for one's actions in spite of having fun.
Despite her young age and "adult in a child's body, an adventure with an anthropomorphic cat in a hat teaches Sally how to be a kid again and have fun. She also does not want to be referred to as a "little princess" by Larry, noting that princesses have no power and parliament does. She is also charmed with Larry at first and calls him "Lawrence" but once his true colors show when he comes to the Walden house uninvented and calls her a "suck up" she no longer is charmed by him and calls Lawrence "Larry" like her brother, showing her disdain for him as well.

Trivia[]
Larry serves an example of what both the Walden kids could have become as adults & thus if the Cat in the Hat not come into their presence:
If Conrad was not able to learn how to take responsibility for his own actions (which resulted in his initial "Rule Breaker" identification), especially when it's serious or necessary, he would end up like Larry in adulthood: unemployed, in debt, out of control, and relying too much on others without giving them anything in return. Luckily, the Cat helped him get into becoming a more well-behaved kid.
Sally's bossiness and arrogance at the start of the film would have led to her acting similar to Larry as an adult (hence her earlier "Control Freak" label), viewing people as opportunities for social-climbing and distancing herself from people she perceives as below her (which could have caused her and Conrad to be separated as adults), until the Cat taught her how to humble herself and take accountability. Larry's influence over her at the start may have been a way to subtly convince Sally that she is better than Conrad as well.
