Sailor Chibi Moon is one of the main protagonists in the Sailor Moon franchise. She is the daughter of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask. When she first appears, she is a small child from the 30th century who visits the past to seek help from the series' primary heroines, the Sailor Senshi. She later returns a few years older in order to train as a Sailor Guardian herself, Sailor Chibi Moon (Sailor Mini Moon in the Cloverway English dub).
But in the the 20th century, she goes by the name Chibiusa Tsukino (Rini Tsukino in the original English dub).
She is voiced by Kae Araki in the first anime and Misato Fukuen for the Crystal anime in the Japanese version. For the previous English version, she was was voiced by Tracy Hoyt for the DIC dub, and Stephanie Beard for the Cloverway dub. For the current English version by VIZ Media for both the redub of the first anime and Crystal, Chibiusa is voiced by Sandy Fox.
Appearance[]
Chibiusa has fair skin, red eyes and pink hair that is shaped in the form of rabbit ears tied in an odango.
Civilian[]
In her first appearance in Sailor Moon R, Chibiusa sports a summer school uniform featuring a white short-sleeved sailor top adorned with red accents, including a single white trim along the sleeves and a prominent red bow at the front. She pairs this with a blue pleated skirt that has a red bow at the back, complemented by white socks and white shoes that also have a red bow on the front. The uniform is primarily red, accented with two white trims and an additional red design with white lining underneath. As she witnesses Usagi's transformation into Sailor Moon and continues through the end of Season 2, Chibiusa transitions to a winter version of her uniform, which is blue.
In Sailor Moon S, Chibiusa keeps her summer school uniform from the second season, but her bow and back bow are now blue. The uniform is white with red trim and features a pink brooch on the front bow, allowing her to transform into Sailor Chibi Moon.
Her winter school uniform stays unchanged, except that the bow is now white with red trim.
In Sailor Moon SuperS and onwards, Chibiusa's distinctive casual outfit features a white long-sleeve sailor uniform adorned with a small red bow at the center, complemented by light blue suspenders and a flowing light blue skirt. She wears white socks and white shoes that now have red soles and a red bow. The uniform and her rolled-up sleeves are white with pink accents.
When PallaPalla swapped the ages of Chibiusa and Usagi, Chibiusa transformed into a teenager, matching Usagi's height. However, unlike her transformation into Black Lady, her pigtails did not lengthen significantly; they only reached her waist and retained a slightly puffy appearance.
Sailor Senshi[]
In the S Season, she sports a heart-shaped emblem on her choker and a transformation brooch positioned at the center of her front bow. Her appearance reflects a slightly older and taller version of herself, with pink as her primary color (seen in her collar, skirt, boots, gloves, and choker) and red as her accent color (featured in her bows).
Her knee-high pink boots have a white trim at the triangular top. The gem in her tiara is red, and her collar features two white stripes. She wears simple pink stud earrings. On her odango, she has two red circular accents bordered in white, topped with pointed white fittings that resemble rabbit ears.
In Episode 111, she acquires two wing-like barrettes in her hair after Sailor Moon obtains the Holy Grail. Sailor Chibi Moon's shoulder and elbow pads are distinctive, featuring only two bars instead of the usual three.
During the fourth season, her uniform undergoes significant changes, mirroring many aspects of Super Sailor Moon's design. She is then referred to as Super Sailor Chibi Moon, a much more powerful version of her original form. She retains her barrettes, and her body remains slightly older and taller.
Her choker transforms to yellow with a red heart, and the stripes on her collar change to yellow. Her shoulder pads become translucent and take on a wing-like shape. The back waist bow is long, white, and flowing. Her boots gain crescent moon insignias.
The top of her skirt features a yellow belt and a matching heart-shaped brooch, with the most noticeable change being that her skirt shifts from pink to white, adorned with a yellow and pink border at the hem.
Personality[]
Chibiusa used to be distant because she was bullied. She is annoying to Usagi. However, she has matured into a very friendly and compassionate girl.
