SCORPIA is one of the main antagonistic factions in the Alex Rider series. It is a private intelligence agency, and short for Sabotage, Corruption, Intelligence, and Assassination. They are the overarching antagonists of the novel Stormbreaker and the first two seasons of the TV series, the main antagonists of the novels Scorpia, Snakehead, Scorpia Rising and the third season.
Among other members are John Rothman, Zeljan Kurst, and assassination Yassen Gregorovich. Alex's father John Rider also became a member, but was secretly a double agent for MI6.
They were an "International enterprise" at the end of the cold war. It is run by ex-spies, assassins and corrupted officials.
Despite SCORPIA being the true threat in the series, it is widely considered that the MI6 are the bigger bad due to them recruiting Alex Rider, who suffers psychologically after every mission.
