Rumpelstiltskin (or simply Rumpel) is a minor villain in Shrek the Third and the main antagonist of Shrek Forever After.
He is a derisive and fraudster deal maker who grants wishes/deals to his customers, who later become his items because he twists the deal in his own way.
History[]
Shrek The Third []
Rumpelstiltskin appears as a minor villain in Shrek The Third in The Poison Apple when Prince Charming convinces all the villains to attack and take over Far Far Away. Rumpel's appearance and voice are different from his later appearance, and it is also mentioned that he was promised a firstborn that never came.
Shrek Forever After[]
Personality[]
Rumpelstiltskin is extremely tricky, short-tempered, hateful, and power-hungry. He is a rather skilled con man who will do whatever it takes to become King of Far Far Away, even through sinister means, like be tricking Fiona's parents in order to take their throne by erasing them from existence. After discovering that Shrek had rescued Fiona from the tower, (causing the contract with the Kings to be cancelled), Rumpelstiltskin's anger became uncontrollable and his hatred of Shrek grew stronger, to the point where he wished that he never existed. He possesses great talent for manipulation and deception, as he was able to easily trick a vulnerable Shrek through persuasion into signing a contract that would turn him into a true ogre again, knowing that after 24 hours, he would be erased of existence.
Despite his nature, Rumpelstiltskin genuinely loves his pet goose, Fifi, with him being the only one exempt from his cruelty, as he pampers him all the time, and looks horrified when Fifi explodes to death. He also had some comedic moments, albeit a lot minor compared to his actions.
