Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is one of the main protagonists of the Rankin/Bass holiday specials. He is the titular main protagonist of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer franchise, one of the two main protagonists of the special Rudolph And Frosty's Christmas in July. and a supporting character in several subsequent television series programs.
He is different from the other reindeer due to his glowing red nose, which is what he had since he was young. However, Rudolph's glowing nose will help guide Santa through a misty, foggy night, thus saving Christmas.

Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town[]
Rudolph makes a debut/cameo in the film, where the children mention the narrator forgot Rudolph, the ninth reindeer when Kris was organizing his team to help him deliver presents around the world. However, the narrator tells the children (and the audience) that Rudolph's story is saved for another day.
