Robert Gonzales was a supporting character in ABC's television series in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. He was a high ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.

Over the years he became the commanding officer of the aircraft carrier Iliad, a position he held when the terrorist organization HYDRA revealed its existence to the world. Against all odds, Gonzales and a group of loyal agents managed to save their ship from falling into HYDRA's hands.
After the HYDRA Uprising, Gonzales assembled what was left of S.H.I.E.L.D. and reorganized it, eventually becoming one of its leaders, until another faction led by Nick Fury's closest ally Phil Coulson emerged as well.
