Michael , known under the alias Rip Hunter , is the overarching protagonist of DC's Legends of Tomorrow .
He was a former Time Master from the 22nd century, a foster son of Mary Xavier, the widower of the late "Miranda Coburn", and the father of the late Jonas. He is the founder and former leader of the Legends of Tomorrow, and a good friend towards Sara Lance , Leonard Snart , Martin Stein , Jefferson Jackson , Kendra Saunders , Carter Hall and Ray Palmer , as well as the former captain of the Waverider.
