Reishi Mushrooms, also known as lingzhi mushrooms, are a species of mushroom that encompasses several fungal species of the same genus from the MTV series Teen Wolf. Many of the species have been used as a medicinal mushroom for over two thousand years in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese medicine.
Reishi mushrooms have acted as a protective agent and a cure against several supernatural ailments. The first is the infection caused by the ingestion of a Nogitsune fly; after Ken Yukimura was forced to swallow one by the Nogitsune, Noshiko Yukimura had Ken eat some of the mushrooms, allowing him to cough up the fly before it could control him.
