Ratchet is major character in the Generation 1 era of the Transformers franchise. He is one of the main characters of the first two seasons and a minor character in the 1986 animated film The Transformers: The Movie. He was a part of the first wave of Autobots aboard the Ark, which crashed on Earth six million years prior to 1984. Ratchet was the medic officer of Optimus' team of Autobots.
