Tuya is a minor character in DreamWorks' 1998 animated film, The Prince of Egypt. She is Seti's wife, Ramses II's mother, Moses' adoptive mother, and Tzipporah's adoptive mother-in-law and the former Queen of Egypt and Great Royal Wife.

She is voiced by Helen Mirren, who also voices Nyra in the 2010 film Legend of the Guardians and portrayed Mother Ginger in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

Role in the film[]

Tuya first appears when she and her son, Rameses, are by the river, when baby Moses floats down to her. Taken with the baby, Tuya shows Moses to Seti and the duo adopt Moses, and raise him as their adoptive son alongside Rameses. Over time, Tuya never revealed to Moses he was adopted due to hopes he wouldn't feel different around Egypt.

She is present when Seti is chastising Rameses about how his actions are making him look bad to the people. Later, she is ashamed of seeing Moses poorly treat Tzipporah, promoting him to go apologize to her and later, help the young woman escape. She last appears, revealing to Moses what happened in his past and said it was the gods who rescued them.

It is unknown what happens to her after Moses runs away, as she never appears when Moses returns to Egypt.
