Queen Novo is a major protagonist in the 2017 film My Little Pony: The Movie. She is the queen of the Hippogriffs who hid below the water's surface during the Storm King's reign, disguising themselves at sea ponies. Additionally, she is the mother of Princess Skystar and the maternal aunt of Silverstream and Terramar.

  • Despite her intial antagonism towards the Mane Six, Novo is actually a hero who is simply looking out for her subjects. Ironically, Celestia was considered to become "Queen Celestia" but was changed to "Princess Celestia" because the creators feared that "Queen" was usually associated with villains like the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and the Ogre Queen from Sleeping Beauty.
