Adrian Chase, also known as Prometheus, is the main antagonist of Season 5 of Arrow. He is a dangerous serial killer and one of Oliver's greatest enemies, as Adrian knows the Hood killed his father.
Simon Morrison was born on April 21, 1986, to Justin Claybourne and Amanda Westfield (then named Morrison) in Star City. Little else is known of his earlier life, but Simon apparently grew up to be a psychopath.
In 2004, Simon met Oliver Queen when Oliver successfully tried to pick up his girlfriend.
After his father was murdered by the Vigilante in 2012, Simon became obsessed with the Arrow and personally made it his mission to make the Arrows life a living hell after murdering his father. He eventually deduced that The Arrow was Oliver Queen and researched his enemy. Dropping off the grid completely and erasing all traces of his existence from the internet, he took on the fake identity "Adrian Chase" and researched his target.
Sometime in 2015, Adrian met Talia al Ghul and they formed an alliance to get revenge on Oliver, who killed their respective fathers.
Through Talia, Adrian also learned more about Oliver's past, including his activities on Lian Yu, Hong Kong, and Russia. He also possibly learned the secret identities of Oliver's closest friends, Barry Allen and Sara Lance, as he was aware of the multiverse, Team Flash's pipeline and time travel because of the Waverider.

Felicity and Oliver were trapped in there for hours and nearly died from asphyxiation due to the toxic buildup. The building nearly would have been destroyed in the equivalence of a three-story bomb.This would not only would have killed Oliver and Felicity, but Curtis, Rene, Dinah, Diggle and Lyla, who came to save them.
Most of his actions in season 5 were to bring out Oliver's inner darkness and prove he is just like Chase thinks he is in order to avenge his father.

In the original comics, the Prometheus villain never was given an identity.
Adrian was the one who became the anti-hero Vigilante, not Dinah Drake's ex-boyfriend Vincent.
In a cold twist of irony, Chase kills his wife in the series when her murder in the series caused him to become Vigilante.
On Earth-2, Adrian Chase is the Vigilante a lot like Oliver was.
